Stan’s Bio

Stan Hanks is an experienced technologist and metrics-driven executive, with expertise in commercialization of emerging technologies and in the accompanying regulatory and financial arcana. With a career ranging from indidvidual contributor to startup founder to Fortune 100 executive, and operational expertise in private equity and as an institutional investor, he brings a wealth of experience to any conversation involving leadership and team/product building.

Stan has been a founder or key man in 19 startups, with an impressive 9 exits, including 5 IPOs and multiple ventures still in play. He has additionally worked as a PE operator and institutional venture investor. Stan also served as a faculty member at Rice University and Baylor College of Medicine, where he was the Technical Director of the W.M. Keck Center for Computational Biology, led the tech transfer office at Baylor College of Medicine; and was a key engineering lead for the first commercial PET scanner. In recent years Stan originated a Series C investment in AbSci, a biotechnology company in Vancouver, Washington. He continues to advise and support emerging and established companies across a spectrum of industries.
